Judiasm at Mahanayim

This summer, Jewish music, learning, and prayer will help us to create a fun and energetic atmosphere at Camp Mahanayim. Every morning, we will welcome the day as a community with the words of the prayer Modeh Ani "I give thanks" before all of the groups separate to go on field trips or start their daily activities.

Once a week, our Judaic Director will join the grade K-2 groups to teach about Jewish life and ritual through fun, participatory, and energetic lessons. On Monday mornings, we will perform the "Havdallah service" to say “goodbye” to the weekend and “hello” to the great week that awaits us. On Fridays, we will sing the Shabbat prayers and wish each other a big "Shabbat Shalom".

Throughout the week, we will sing together popular Jewish songs. Such as: "Miriam’s Song" and "Not by Might". If you do not know the words to the songs or prayers, don't worry! We will always have word-sheets and amazing camp staff to help our campers to participate in building the ruach (spirit) of our community. We are really looking forward to singing and learning with our campers to fill everyday with ruach this summer.
